Founder & Owner, Studio B Salon & Beauty Bar

Brooke Bailey is the visionary force behind Studio B Salon & Beauty Bar — a boutique haven where luxury meets heart, and every detail is curated to elevate the guest experience. With over 30 years in the beauty industry and deep roots in Northern Virginia, Brooke has always been driven by authenticity, innovation, and a passion for uplifting others.

She envisioned Studio B as more than just a salon — it’s a place where beauty, comfort, and connection coexist. From handcrafted coffees and signature cocktails to flawless, customized hair services, Studio B reflects Brooke’s belief that every guest deserves a space to feel pampered, confident, and truly at home.

Brooke is known for her artistry in color, blonding, precision cuts, and extensions — but what truly sets her apart is her heartfelt work with clients experiencing hair thinning or loss. Diagnosed with alopecia at 26, she turned her own journey into a mission to help others feel empowered and beautiful, whether they’re navigating chemotherapy, alopecia, or everyday hair loss.

At the heart of Studio B is a team that thrives on collaboration and joy — a direct result of Brooke’s warm, inspiring leadership. She treats her staff with the same care and respect she gives every guest, creating a vibrant, tight-knit culture where talent is nurtured and creativity flourishes.

Beyond the salon, Brooke is a proud wife, devoted grandmother to three, and loving aunt to many. Her family is the heartbeat behind everything she does — and it’s that same love, loyalty, and sense of belonging that she brings to Studio B.

“After three decades in this industry, I’m still filled with purpose every day. Studio B is more than a dream come true — it’s a place built on love, laughter, and legacy. I’m honored to do what I love, in the community I love, surrounded by people who inspire me every single day.”

About Brooke Bailey

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

Family is the heart of everything I do. I’m the oldest of seven, with three sisters and three brothers, which means I naturally stepped into the role of nurturer and ringleader early on. I’m a proud stepmom and grandmother of three, and affectionately known as “Aunt B” to my 16 amazing nieces and nephews. Recently, my husband and I purchased our forever home—a dream come true—and I’m so excited to create lasting memories there as we watch the kids grow over the years. Some of my favorite moments in life come from the joy and chaos of family gatherings, filled with endless laughter, spontaneous shenanigans, and the kind of love that makes everything brighter. To me, there’s nothing more important than the people we call family.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

I’ve been in the beauty industry for over 30 years, though it’s never truly felt that long—because when you’re passionate about what you do, time just flies. My journey began with an apprenticeship at Charles Russell Salon in Centreville, where my mentors quickly became like family. That foundation shaped me not just as a stylist, but as someone who believes in creating a space where people feel beautiful—starting from within. After several years, I moved to Gainesville and had the opportunity to work at Salon Nordine, where I was introduced to the true meaning of a luxury salon experience. It was there that my vision for owning a high-end, client-focused salon truly came to life. I knew then I wanted to build something of my own that reflected that elevated standard of service and beauty. In my mid-20s, I opened House of Bella in Old Town Manassas—a 4,500-square-foot salon and spa where I celebrated many successful years. Now, in my glorified 40s (lol), I didn’t let a pandemic hold me back. I took a leap of faith and opened Studio B Salon & Beauty Bar in September 2021, right in the heart of Haymarket, Virginia. It has been one of the most fulfilling accomplishments of my career. What I love most today is being able to pour back into the next generation. Studio B is not just a salon—it’s a space where rising talent, seasoned stylists, and master artists can collaborate and thrive in a creative, supportive environment. Watching our new stylists grow, seeing their passion ignite—knowing I can offer them the kind of opportunity that once shaped me—is the most rewarding part of it all.

Q: What advice would you give to people?

Owning a business in a small town like Haymarket is all about connection, consistency, and community. My advice? Show up with heart every single day. In a close-knit town, your reputation is everything—how you treat people, how involved you are, and how much you care will speak louder than any marketing ever could. Be authentic. People in small towns value real relationships, not just transactions. Get to know your clients, support other local businesses, and become part of the fabric of the community. The support you give will always come back tenfold. And lastly, never underestimate the power of a great experience. Just because you’re in a small town doesn’t mean you can’t deliver a big-city, luxury feel. Elevate everything you do—from service to ambiance—and let your passion lead the way. That’s how you stand out and stay rooted at the same time.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

In the next 5 to 10 years, I envision opening one—maybe even two—more salons, continuing to expand the Studio B brand with the same heart, high standards, and community focus that started it all. I’d love to begin traveling more, preparing for retirement in the years to come, and spending more quality time with my family. I can also see myself getting involved in the town even more—perhaps serving on the local events board and helping bring people together in new, meaningful ways. Some say my feet don’t touch the ground, and truthfully, I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I thrive when I’m building something, making a difference, and pouring into the people and places I care about. At the end of the day, it’s about happiness, fulfillment, and continuing to create a legacy I’m proud of. It’s been an adventure so far—and I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Brooke Bailey & Our Community

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

Haymarket is full of incredible eats, and we’re so lucky to have some true culinary gems right here in our hometown. Parrandos is a go-to favorite for both me and the Studio B team—it’s always a hit! Hidden Jules is my cozy corner for breakfast or a quick coffee catch-up. Their Mediterranean avocado toast? Absolutely my favorite. Just a short drive away, Ciao Osteria in Centreville has my heart. It’s my top choice for authentic Italian cuisine paired with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and some of my most cherished memories. And of course, Sweetwater and the many amazing mom-and-pop spots nearby never disappoint. As a small business owner, I truly believe in supporting local. There’s something so powerful about lifting each other up and growing together as a community.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?

I’ve lived and worked in this beautiful area for over 30 years. While I’m a proud native Texan, I’m truly a Virginian at heart. This community has become home in every sense of the word, and I feel so grateful to be part of its growth, spirit, and charm.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

One of the most interesting people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting is Tracy Lynn, our new Mayor. She has the kindest voice, and there’s a sincerity in her eyes that speaks volumes when she talks about our community. I’m genuinely excited to see what she brings to Haymarket—she’s a true multitasker with a clear vision and a heart for service.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?

Hidden Jules Café instantly comes to mind. There’s something so nostalgic about the cozy atmosphere, the smell of fresh coffee, and the warm sense of familiarity when you walk in. It reminds me of the early days of building connections in the community—where conversations flowed easily and big dreams were shared over avocado toast and lattes. Places like that are the heartbeat of small towns. They carry the spirit of the people and remind us how far we’ve come while keeping us grounded in what really matters.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

One of the most unique things about Haymarket is how it blends small-town charm with a deep sense of community pride. As someone who’s lived and worked here for over 30 years, I’ve seen firsthand how neighbors support neighbors and how local businesses truly cheer each other on. It’s not just where you live—it’s where you belong. At Studio B, we’re proud to be part of that story. We’ve created a space where people can come to feel beautiful, be themselves, and connect. Whether it’s a haircut, a heartfelt conversation, or just a quiet moment with a signature cocktail, it all adds to the magic of what makes Haymarket feel like home.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

Parrandos is a favorite for both me and my salon team—we’ve shared so many laughs (and margaritas!) there after a long day. Hidden Jules is perfect for a cozy breakfast or coffee catch-up, and Ciao Osteria over in Centreville will forever have my heart—it’s my go-to for authentic Italian with a warm, welcoming vibe. I also love Sweetwater and the many amazing mom-and-pop spots nearby. As a small business owner myself, I deeply believe in supporting local. There’s sSo don’t laugh—but if I could have lunch with anyone, it would be Miranda Lambert. She’s a small-towngirl , and I’ve always admired how authentically she tells her story through her music. She writes her own songs, many of which feel like reflections of her life, and she’s such a powerful, positive influence—gritty, graceful, and a total boss on stage. If we were to meet locally, I’d take her on a little Haymarket-style tour—starting at a few of our nearby wineries and ending up at The Farm Brewery at Broad Run. We’d grab something delicious from one of the local food trucks, sip a great craft beer, and soak in the vibe.

For Fun

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

I’m not much of a TV person — I’d honestly rather be creating, connecting, or dreaming up the next Studio B experience. But when I do take a moment to unwind, I love anything that blends fashion, design, or luxury lifestyle. Shows like Selling Sunset (for the fashion and fierce women), Dream Home Makeover, and The Home Edit are right up my alley. I also love catching clips from fashion week, interior makeovers, or anything that feels elevated and inspiring. If it’s stylish, uplifting, or sparks creativity — I’m in!

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

That’s a tough one — I actually had to ask my sister Madison and my husband! They both said the same thing: I’m an open book. I don’t really keep my interests hidden because they show up in my everyday life. Whether it’s my passion for beauty, business, community, or family, I’m always involving the people around me. I lean on my friends, my family, and my Studio B team to bring those passions to life. So while there may not be a “secret” side to me, I think what might surprise people is just how much I draw inspiration and strength from the people in my world. I truly believe we rise by lifting others — and I try to live that every single day.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?

I would rate 1971 Coffee Shop a solid 10 out of 10 because it captures everything I love about a great local spot. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy, the coffee is top-notch, and you can feel the pride they take in every detail—from the service to the quality of what they serve. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, savor the moment, and genuinely feel part of the community. Whether you’re catching up with a friend or just needing a quiet spot to recharge, 1971 Coffee Shop always delivers that perfect hometown comfort with a little extra heart.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

Who inspires me to be better? First and foremost, my husband. His belief in me never wavers — even on the days when I doubt myself. He is the calm to my storm, the steady voice of reason when I’m spinning a mile a minute. With an unconditional heart of gold, he supports my wildest dreams and grounds me with love, patience, and unwavering encouragement. I truly wouldn’t be where I am without him. Then there’s my Studio B team — my second family. Every day, I’m surrounded by a group of passionate, talented, and fiercely driven individuals who pour their hearts into their craft and into our salon. The pride they take in where they work fills me with so much gratitude. Watching the upcoming stylists grow, ask questions, take chances, and fall in love with this industry all over again reminds me exactly why I do what I do. Their energy, ambition, and loyalty reignite my passion daily. It’s in those quiet moments — a meaningful conversation behind the chair, a tearful client transformation, or a simple laugh shared during a team meeting — that I’m reminded this isn’t just a career. It’s my calling. And the people who believe in me, beside me and behind me, are the reason I continue to give it my all

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?

Rooted in Love – because everything you build, whether it’s your family or Studio B, is grounded in deep care and connection. Safe Haven – a place where people can be fully themselves, whether they’re sitting in your chair or walking through your front door. Legacy in the Making – home isn’t just where you are, it’s what you’re building for your family, your team, and your community.
