I am a lifelong Northern Virginia native aside from 6 years living in Rhode Island for college. I grew up in the Herndon/Reston area and later lived in Fairfax and Ashburn before moving to this area about 15 years ago. I have 2 amazing kids who go to Gainesville Middle and High School. I have been blessed with some of the absolute best friends in the world and pride myself on knowing someone for just about anything people could need locally. I love to refer friends’ businesses and help other people connect. I have coached kids sports for the better part of the last 7 years including VSA soccer, GHBL baseball, GBA basketball and Grizzlies Football along with Cardinals baseball and was lucky enough to help get the Sandlot Baseball group up and running with 2 of my friends. I am the Marketing and Customer Care Manager for Comfenergy, a locally owned contracting company that helps people with a variety of different home needs and I work part time at both Piedmont Tire and Auto shops in Haymarket and Gainesville. I am a volunteer at heart and love helping other people. I especially take pride in coaching. A lot of kids need positive role models and people to cheer them on, so it has been fun to be that person for so many kids. It has also let me see the friendships and relationships my kids have developed up close, and I have been fortunate enough to meet and become friends with some really great coaches and parents.

About Dan Bomar

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

My daughter London and my son Lucas are the best. Seeing them grow up in this great area has been amazing. There is so much that is offered for kids around town, and they have always been active in some activity or another since they were little.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

Currently I am the Marketing/Customer Care manager for Comfenergy and have been able to connect so many other business operators and owners inside of the Prince William Chamber of Commerce. We help people make their homes more comfortable and energy efficient along with indoor air quality improvement and more. Learning about the science behind how homes are built has been amazing and it is always fun teaching people things about their homes that they never realized or understood before. Part time I help run the front end and customer service for Piedmont. It is great helping people and being part of a business that is such a pillar in the community. I also get to see my friends, neighbors, kids teachers and parents of all the kids I have coached through the years. It never really feels like work when I am there.

Q: What advice would you give to people?

“Go do it.” If you have an idea, act on it. Too many people wait for someone else to make a change or create something. Be the one who stands up.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

Hopefully right where I am now with both kids happy and healthy moving into adulthood. I wouldn’t mind if there was a beach involved somehow.

Dan Bomar & Our Community

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

Giuseppes, Rockwood, Glory Days and Firebirds, just to name a few.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?

I have lived here for about 15 years in both Haymarket and Gainesville.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

I am not sure I could pick just one, but I would have to include my friend Joe Beirne. He is a teacher at Battlefield and has an amazing life story as well as a great family including his 2 sons. So many other people who dedicate their time and effort into youth sports and helping kids.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?

Probably Jiffy Lube Live, or Nissan Pavilion as it was originally known. I have been going to concerts there since I was in middle school and it was the about the only thing that ever brought me to this area before moving here. I still go to as many concerts as possible.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

There are tons or great trails and parks. I love to get out and walk or have a light hike and there are more than a few great options from the battlefields to Long Park to Silver Lake.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

Michael Jordan. Because he can afford to pay and might give me some free shoes.

For Fun
